Savings Goal Calculator
Two modes: months to goal from a fixed monthly contribution, or monthly amount needed for a target timeline, with optional monthly compounding.
Limitation: Educational projection only.
How to Plan a Savings Goal
Pick the question you are asking, then enter goal, starting balance, and either a contribution or a deadline.
Choose currency and mode.
Start with 0% rate
A zero-rate run shows the pure contribution path. Add a conservative rate only if the money will actually earn it.
What the Savings Goal Result Means
Time-to-goal returns whole months (ceiled). Monthly-needed returns the deposit that reaches the goal in the target months under your rate assumption. Ending balance may slightly exceed the goal because months are whole numbers.
Savings Goal Examples
Eight months without interest
Entered goal assumptions
Primary result
(5,000 − 1,000) ÷ 500 = 8.
Twelve months, zero start
Entered goal assumptions
Primary result
6,000 ÷ 12 = 500.
Pair with an emergency fund
Fund short-term cash buffers before aggressive long-horizon goals if job or health risk is high.
