How to Estimate ECTS Credits

ECTS represents learning outcomes and the workload normally needed to achieve them. This calculator performs the arithmetic after you choose the applicable workload convention.

Use the local convention

The European Commission describes 60 ECTS as a full academic year and commonly 1,500–1,800 workload hours, but institutions define individual course allocations.

What This ECTS Estimate Means
