Home Closing Cost Worksheet
Sums user-entered closing cost components and reports the total as a percent of home price for educational cash-to-close planning.
Limitation: Educational worksheet only—not a Loan Estimate, Closing Disclosure, or advice.
How to Estimate Closing Costs
Enter the purchase price and every known closing component in one currency.
Choose a display currency; no exchange-rate conversion occurs.
Prepaids are not the same as fees
Prepaid taxes and insurance are often escrow deposits, not lender profit. Keep them separate from origination charges when reconciling disclosures.
An Educational Estimate—not a Disclosure
The total is a direct sum of amounts you enter. The percent of price divides that total by home price. This page does not determine who pays which fee, apply jurisdiction tax schedules, or substitute for CFPB-required Loan Estimates or Closing Disclosures.
Closing Cost Examples
Four-hundred-thousand purchase
Entered closing components
Total and percent of price
The five cost fields sum to 12,000, which is 3% of a 400,000 price.
Lower-price scenario
Entered closing components
Total and percent of price
Costs sum to 5,000; 5,000 ÷ 200,000 × 100 = 2.5%.
Reconcile with official forms
Update each field from your Loan Estimate or Closing Disclosure rather than relying on a generic percent rule of thumb.
