Oven Temperature: Fahrenheit, Celsius, and Gas Mark
Convert common bake temperatures and understand when gas mark approximations apply.
Affine Conversion
°C = (°F − 32) × 5/9. There is no simple multiplier without the offset—350°F is not "double" 175°C.
Gas Mark Range
UK gas marks map loosely to 25°F steps between roughly 275°F and 475°F. Outside that band, gas mark may not apply.
